[Found the answer after posting - see my reply below if grappling with the same.]
I am trying to set up and use taxonomies. One view will be regional using the Morningstar superregions (Greater Europe, Americas, Greater Asia) initially.
Is there a way to show the distribution of a global fund across such a taxonomy?
For example: HSBC INDEX TRACKER INVESTMENT FUNDS FTSE ALL WORLD INDEX C ACC
is split Greater Europe - 15.3%, Americas 68%, Greater Asia 16.7% currently.
I’ll ultimately want to go down to a more fine-grained regional view, but at the moment can’t figure out how I can spread a security across classifications (regional or otherwise).
Of course, after grappling with it for a while, I posted here and went back and immediately saw the answer!
Drag the secyurity to any of the regions and it shows weight as 100%. Edit the weight to what it should be and the remainder pops up again in “Without Classification”. Repeat for other splits.
I did look at the taxonomies tab there, but couldn’t figure out how I’d do this. a the time.
Thanks for the prompt as it got me to take another look. I thought the New Category link woud alter the taxonomy, but it pops up boxes so that percentage split can be entered as you say.
