Is there no way to add CAD as the base currency in the conversion tab? Also, I created a new exchange rate CAD/USD but it doesn’t do anything and i can’t delete it. Confused as to how this section of the software works.

by creating a new portfolio file it is the first setting to define the base currency. But you can also change it in an existing file:
File → Currency → A - D (mouse-over) and then select CAD
For CAD you dont have to create an exchange rate, it is already built into PP. I assume you have created a now security for CAD/USD, right? If you cant delete it in all securities section, there might be a booking to this security which you first have to delete, before deleting the scuritity itself.
Please let me know if this is not working for you and provide a screenshot of the CAD/USD security and also from the error message you get by trying to delete it.
