in the ‘Earnings’ many times (but not always) the amount is only ‘USD’ instead of ‘USD X.XX’)
Did you selected multiple years and in the other ones there are earnings for the “only USD” securities?
It’s the ‘Earnings’, as part of the ‘Performance’ in ‘Reports’. does not change depending on the amount of time. I cannot see a ‘only USD’ option.
Got it, I am not using this widget, but under the third heading there is a year with arrows. What happens if you select another year than 2026? Does the first position in the list maybe didn’t had earnings in January 2026 and therefore just displays “USD” but if you’re changing to 2025 (or whatever is possible) has earnings and therefore displays USD xxx?
@kernel2705
Did you have the chance to post as example the transaction for Microsoft issued in March 2026 in detail?
Then my guess was wrong. Do you have any filters on the dashboard or the widget?
The problem is on the window ‘Reports’-‘Performance’-‘Earnings’ - there is no filter options
Hello
Could it be due to negative cash balances at the time of earning receipt?
(Your earnings are negative in December 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.)
I’m curious: How do you generate negative earnings?
Grufti
No, to me it seems to be random - after all I am still convinced it is a bug in the program. I used the Portfolio Performance ‘Help - Report an issue …’ function to get here.
Negative earnings are interest I paid to the broker for margin credits.
Since you are the very first one reporting this behavior, I assume the issue is with your data rather than PP.
Could you please provide an overview of all your transactions for March 2026?
You can create a demo file as well, probably easier to reproduce your issue.
I can send you the whole *.xml if you are willing to examine it - I guess it should be safe (data security)?
So it’s about your data.
But from a distance, hard to say. Some of your transactions seem to be entered wrongly or incompletely.
No need, you already proofed it’s about your data.

No, I don’t think so. I am attaching a PP *.xml, where you see the bug in Reports-Performance-Earnings just showing ‘USD’ instead of ‘USD x.xx’. I have already deleted most transactions from the original file. Now it seems that if you delete any more transactions the bug goes away. It seems that this function of PP can’t handle too much data?

If you know it better than us, why are we talking?
Shouldn’t you provide a proof for a malfunction rather than us demonstrating you this feature works with 5 digits transactions?
Honestly I don’t understand why you are upset now. All I did was trying to report a bug. After some experimenting I sent you an example file where I guess it becomes plausible that the bug appears only after a lot of transactions … I hope the developers can look into this, but it’s not a bug which bothers me too much, because generally PP works very well, and I appreciate it’s freeware …
Do you have the bug with this exact file ? In which year ?
When I open it I do not see the bug, neither in 2025, 2024 or 2023.
Any error in Help/Show Error log ?
When you have the bug, if you change your file currency to USD, what appears ?
I‘m not upset at all, why would I?
The thing is you are asking for help. We try to help, your answer is: I don’t think so.
Instead of digging into your bookings you insist on a bug.
