Same issue on Mac with Version: 0.76.1 (May 2025) Platform: macosx, aarch64
Hm, I’m not sure there is, do I need to change sth?
Because if I set to yahoo finance provider and add RR.L for ticker I still get GBX price:
???
Meaning: “Use of JSON should not be needed for yahoo anymore.” ? when the fix is adopted?
I had since yesterday the same new Prolbem. The Update fixed it. Thank you - for this update and the whole Application!
Hi, I´m having this Problem now, whenever I try to add a new Stock or Crypto.
Yahoo Finance: 429 Too Many Requests → https://query2.finance.yahoo.com/v1/finance/lookup?
Also the CoinGecko API Limit is clogging the whole “system” it seems. Any advice how to reduce the load or any other sources?
Edit: Desktop Version, updated to the latest Version.
yes, same here. I use the Mac desktop, updated to last version ( Version: 0.76.1 (Mei 2025)
Platform: macosx, aarch64
Java: 21.0.5+11-LTS, Azul Systems, Inc.
Yes, see workaround in above messages
I just want to chime in and let you know that I’m still experiencing the
issue with the (experimentally) fixed version of the app.
I just checked. Indeed it only works in one direction at the moment. Pence are transmitted with “GBp” but I expected “GBX”. I fixed it.
In general, should I prefer and use the built-in variant to Yahoo FInance, if I can get the price from there?
There is no answer to ‘should’, nobody tells you from which source you get your prices. But you can see from the latest defence measures taken by some data providers that it would be good if they received fewer requests. From this point of view it would be good if as many users as possible would use the new source for historical prices.
That wasn’t what I wanted to ask.
If all PP users were to use the built-in version, there might be some costs that someone would have to pay.
If this is not a problem, I will take the time to switch from Yahoo to the built-in historical data if the stock, location and currency are available there.
Hi @AndreasB , what did you do to make it work? Many thanks / Joakim
