Hi,
I know there is a way to add it manually Retrieving gold and other precious metals prices - Portfolio Performance Manual
But honestly, for such a popular investment, this feel lacking. Website Ariva.de have data for the last 30 days only
LBMA as far as i understand it, is not working anymore, when you the json request there is a server answer “accessible only by authrized account”
Gold.org is working with json, i can already see limitation for a long term investment. If you choose the 1Y chart, it will the price every day, but as soon as your investment is of more than 1Y, you will not have all data.
If you choose the 3Y chart ore more, you will not have a price every day, only every 3 days or more.
A dedicated instrument implemented in portfolio like there is for pretty much any etf or share, would be so much better, why is it not possible to do it?
Thanks,
To be honest, nobody here can do anything about your feelings.
Hm, https://prices.lbma.org.uk/json/gold_pm.json
works for me.
The LBMA Gold and Silver Price benchmarks are the global benchmark prices for unallocated gold and silver delivered in London, and are administered by ICE Benchmark Administration Limited. A licence is required from IBA in order to obtain and use real-time or historical LBMA Gold and Silver Price data, including for pricing and valuation activities and in transactions and financial products. Please contact iba@theice.com for details on how to obtain the requisite licence and where to access the data. Please see IBA’s website for further information.
The LBMA Platinum and Palladium Price is administered independently by the London Metal Exchange (LME). LME licences its data for a wide variety of purposes, including distribution and the creation of derived products. Particular uses of the LBMA Platinum and Palladium prices require a usage licence. For information on licensing arrangements relating to these prices, please refer to the LME website.
Please get a licence that allows free use within PP and donate it to PP, then someone will probably implement it.

Yes.
Just wanted to add for other readers, there is a way to use the https://www.edelkurs.de Data also via the search. That are prices for some gold coins. It is the price you get when selling the coin. At the moment, it is hard to see in the results - (too many instruments with gold) - but de-selecting the others can help. (will try to improve)
Hi, not being familiar with gold quotes:
Website Ariva.de have data for the last 30 days only
Are you sure that after registration with ariva.de it is not possible to download data for a longer historical period than 30 days via csv ?
