Hi
I own Atlas Corp but looks like they are no longer listed and almost bankrupt. What is the best practice way to account for this?
This is what it says about the share: Atlas Corp. stopped trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on March 28, 2023. This suspension was in connection with a merger transaction with Poseidon Acquisition Corp. Following the merger, Atlas Corp. was officially delisted from the NYSE on April 10, 2023. During this process, Atlas common shares were converted into cash for shareholders, while preferred shares continued to trade on the NYSE
The shares have simply disappeared and I believe I must have received some cash for them… I guess I sell all the shares at the value of the cash received.
Hi, yes, I “believe”… as the statement reads: " Atlas Corp. was officially delisted from the NYSE on April 10, 2023 . During this process, Atlas common shares were converted into cash for shareholders"… does this constitute a sell? I guess so…
