Hi all, I’ve one fund in my portfolio with dollar currency, there is no problem with it, but its current value appears different in the app (android) than in the desktop application (windows). Are they getting the USD-EUR change from different sources/dates? Any ideas?
They should get the data from the same source - the reference exchange rates from the European Central Bank (ECB) (unless you have configured custom exchange rates).
I checked. Indeed, the ECB has changed the data endpoint. Therefore, the exchange rates are currently not updating. I will create a fix for this. This will take a couple days to go through the Apple and Google processes.
You could also - temporarily - create your own exchange rate. For example, use Yahoo Finance as provider and *EURUSD=X" as symbol.
It will take some time to build a new version for the desktop and as well to push the mobile ones through the app stores. Be patient, I’m sure Andreas will provide an update when it’s done.
The desktop application is using the same source (ECB), but a different API. It is basically always downloading all exchange rates.
The mobile application is using a different API where it was downloading the exchange rates only for used currency pairs. This API changed. This is where the update is needed.
The mobile version has been approved. It may take some time until it shows up in the App Stores. And it may take more time until the phone proposes to update (the typical progressing update). On you phone go to the app store directly and see if it is already offering you an update.
