Doubt about transferals

Hello everyone,

First, thank you to the developers for providing such a valuable piece of software.

I have a question regarding transfers and inbound deliveries.

Here is what I am trying to achieve:

  • I have a deposit account where I deposited EUR 2,000.

  • I buy EUR 2,000 worth of Asset X using a Buy transaction, debiting the deposit account and crediting my securities account.

  • I receive EUR 1,000 worth of Asset X as a gift and record it as an inbound delivery.

In the Statement of Assets chart, when I enable the Transfers (Accumulated) metric, the gifted EUR 1,000 is still included.

Is there a way to visualize — for example in a chart — how much money I actually spent to purchase a specific asset, excluding inbound deliveries (such as gifts)?

An inbound delivery is just a shortcut for a deposit and an immediate buy.

In PP you cannot have shares with Null value. Somebody bought the shares. There are a ton of discussions here (mostly German) handling this issues with a lot of suggestions of cheats. Depending on what you want to see one or the other may work for you.

Maybe this helps, I just searched for “free share”. Actually there seem to be english posts as well.
