Flex Queries to PP : Forex Conversions not supported?

Hello there,

I haven’t found anything about this specific topic so I’m posting here.

I’m willing to import all the automatic forex conversions that IB does by default when buying an instrument for which the balance in that currency is insufficient.

They appear as “Trades/Forex” in the IB reports, and until now I have been making all entries manually as “transfers” between deposit accounts.

Yet when using the Flex Query import function, those Forex trades are ignored in PP.

Is there a way to import them in a bulk?

The background of that story is that IB is doing a lot of them to equalize the balance of each currency account (maybe 4 or 5 per security trade in average) and it is quite time consuming to input all FX trades manually in PP, especially when some of them include numbers with 3 or 4 decimal places, where the currency only allows 2 of them in real life and PP, creating balance mistakes over time.

I believe the upcoming version will help with this.

It contains to two changes:

  • First, multi-currency transfers are picked up from the IB XML file
  • Second, when importing, you can select default accounts per currency

I can’t tell for sure, but I hope to publish one by end of May (= soon).
