Foreign currency investments and performance tracking

Hello everyone, I’ve been on the app for a few months now. I’m seeking your help because my Portfolio Performance account is in euros, and I make investments in various foreign currencies.

For example, I would like to track my investments in Yen.

I would like to know where to view the realized gains on the Yen sold and the unrealized gains on the Yen.

Here’s how I entered my investments in Portfolio Performance:

I created a euro deposit account for the Yen and a new deposit account in Yen currency.

I make deposits to my euro account for the Yen and then transfer to the account denominated in Yen.

Sometimes, I make withdrawals from my Yen account to Euro.

I noticed that in the “Performance” tab –> “Calculations”, there is a section for cash gains, but I’m not exactly sure what this corresponds to. I believe it also includes cash gains from sold securities.

How can I see the realized and unrealized capital gains specifically on the Yen, for example?

I was wondering if it wouldn’t have been simpler to create a Euro-Yen currency security.

Thanks for your help, everyone.

In the menu under File you can select the Currency in which the various views are shown. Have you tried to change this from Euro into Yen? and if so, does this than provide the information you are looking for?

Thank you for your response. This is not what I am looking for; I want to see the gains or losses on the exchange rate.

For example, I exchanged €2 for 340 yen, and today I exchange 170 yen for €1.2.

How can I see the realized gain of €0.2 and the unrealized gain of €0.2?

Ok, this is not available as PP focus the buy/sell realised/unrealised gain rather than the forex trading.

Thank you, I should have bought a stock on JPY instead in PP.

in the “Performance” tab –> “Calculations”, there is a section for cash gains and it move but I don’t know what is it in

After various tests using Excel for comparison, it seems that the value corresponds to the unrealized gains plus realized gains (FIFO).
