Fund prices from Yahoo not correct

Hi @ Portfolio Performance

I have just download a number of fund prices via PortPerf (Shown below) and I note by comparison with FT.Com there is a significant disparity in pricing.

Has anyone else noticed this? I have checked on the Yahoo site and many prices are stuck at 15 July.

Thanks

Terry

Well, you’ve checked just initially page of each security rather than the historical data. Out of these, why you do not ask Yahoo about their website directly?

“via PortPerf” means yahoo, I think

morningstar:

yahoo is sometimes a little bit stubborn, so it is better to use other sources

Hi All

Thanks to everyone who replied.

To Rafa and ProgFriese, I simply say that I am using Portfolio Performance to download and that is how I did it. If you are prepared to put up with inaccurate data, I am not.

Portfolio Performance is ONLY as good as the data it uses!!

The question I asked is “Has anyone else noticed this?”

as the data (you have configured which source is used) it uses!!

If you think yahoo is shit configure other data, it is not a PP-problem.

It is described here in the forum a hundred times how to use other sources.

Often.

Your main issue appears indeed to be that you (wrongly) believe that Yahoo Finance is the only available source for PP.

It is well known that Yahoo Finance is unreliable.

Think the Yahoo fund pricing issue is relatively long standing. I would suggest obtaining this info from Morningstar instead - as explained here: Import fund data from Morningstar - #2 by SimonFitz

Is it only me not seeing the problem?
Fortified is claiming wrong prices from PortfolioPerformance but Progfriese is presenting three sources (including fT) all showing the same number.

Are we talking about PortfolioPerformance or PortfolioReport?

My bet.

Fortified just mentioned he lets PP download the quotes but does not mention the source when claiming the quotes are wrong.

However, Progfriese shows a varienty of sources with the exact same price.

Sorry for the confusion

Not Portfolio Report. The OP seems to believe that Portfolio Performance only uses data from Yahoo Finance, therefore didn’t specify the actual source (which was Yahoo Finance).

Thanks @chirlu

We were on the same page, I just raised the questions based on @Harry_Hirsch statements.
