Importing Portfolio from Morningstar

Apparently Portfolio Manager will be disappearing from Morningstar in June for the entire EU, Canada and Asia, but we will be able to download our portfolio and its transactions.

Has anyone imported transactions from Morningstar Portfolio Manager into Portfolio Performance after downloading it there? I believe Morningstar Premium users could already download it there.

Do you know if It will be possible and if It must be downloaded in .csv format? Any idea what steps we should follow to do it?

Some of us have entered transactions there for many years.

I was able to do a first test of importing operations from a .csv file. We’ll see how we can download My Portfolio from Morningstar in June and if the fields need to be adjusted to upload it to PP in .csv format.

My first question is if we hadn’t entered the different cash deposits at each time there in MS, it’d affect the returns calculated in PP or something similar, etc… I also couldn’t find a field to assign the buy or sell price.

Any contribution is welcome. Thanks

I’ve finally managed to copy all the transactions from My Portfolio in Morningstar and convert it as .csv file easily!

Now, another problem I’ve encountered when importing it into PP is that when the transactions are in other currency ($, £, ¥, etc…) than the primary account (€), I get an error.

I don’t know if I have to enter the exchange rates or what, but for mutual funds it could be a problem if we have several transactions over several years in mutual funds in dollars, etc… Any suggestions?

Hmm, where did you read that portfolio manager is no longer available for Canada. Logged into yahoo finance CA and I don’t see any notice, or announcement. If anything they have added some features?

Nobody named Yahoo. Morningstar free portfolio manager dissappears.

As mentioned, I’m talking about Morningstar’s Portfolio Manager. You can read the news for Canada here, and I spoke with them later: Upcoming changes to our membership offerings,... | Morningstar

They will also remove x-ray, etc… and Portfolio Manager (for both Premium and free members)

Oops sorry folks, got Morningstar and Yahoo finance mixed up. yes, just received a email from Morningstar with the same details as noted above.

Could you please confirm how you were able to copy all your transactions from Morningstar into a CSV file? Thanks!
