Incorrect historical data for GBX quotes

I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong here, but it seems like the built-in data provider has some incorrect data for GBX-quoted tickers:

The correct quote here (in GBX) is the figure in the thousands. The “Day’s Low” and “Quote” fields appear to be GBP rather than GBX.

This seems to be true for a number of tickers. IBTL.L is a fun one where on some days all columns are in GBX, and other days “Day’s High” is GBX while “Day’s Low” and “Quote” are GBP.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way this can be fixed? I’m struggling to get good historical data for some of these securities as a result.

It looks the built-in data provider has had a bit of wobble and not just in respect of seemingly providing the “Day’s Low” and “Quote” fields as GBP rather than GBX  .

What about trying Yahoo Finance instead? You could always come back to the built-in data provider at a later date and switching over is very straightforward.

Thanks for confirming! Yep, switching to Yahoo Finance is exactly what I’ve ended up doing. In a few cases it wasn’t finding the GBX version of the quote, but after adding ISINs and tickers to all of the relevant securities that seems to be working better.

Just for info, this GBX/GBP mixup also happens from time to time with other quote providers like Yahoo. So if you see unusual performance changes in future, it is a good idea first to check these securities.
