Correct in what sense? Like what specifically could be wrong with a buy transaction that would make it list the warning shown above? It’s extremely confusing that it says “not enough holdings for sell transaction”, but then list a buy transaction rather than a sell transaction…? There’s nothing obviously wrong with the buy transaction that I can see
Second, filter all bookings and find the sell, check for the same.
There are no sells of BTC at all, in this account or any other account, in 2025.
Can you please elaborate specifically what I’m looking for? The security is $BTC - as mentioned there are no sells at all of BTC since August (or even before august in 2025), despite the message saying “Not enough holdings for sell transaction”
Unfortunately we are no magicians.
We can only tell you what needs to be checked.
That’s precisely what I was requesting, “Can you please elaborate specifically what I’m looking for?”
PP tells you a mismatch between BTC being hold and BTC being sold.
Either your buys contained to less BTC or a sell contained too much.
To clarify tho, it seems like there’s only 1 possible scenario: it’s reporting that some sell transaction is attempting to sell more shares than I possess, right? So concretely, the only thing to look for is: a SELL transaction of $BTC (which is selling more shares than I’m holding at that time).
Is there any other possible alternative scenario that would trigger this warning?
So what is the significance of the particular “Buy” transaction that it is showing in the error message (screenshot above)? It can’t be the point at which he sum becomes negative, because a “buy” will always add to the sum but not subtract. What is the relevance of that specific “buy” if the error message means “there is a negative sum”?
The reference buy transaction is just an indication.
So there’s no significance to that particular transaction besides using it to determine the relevant security & account? Like it doesn’t tell you anything about if the number of shares goes negative before that transaction or on that transaction?
It still feels really weird/nonintuitive to have a message saying “there’s an issue with a sell transaction; here’s a specific buy transaction”, but I’m just trying to understand what that specific buy transaction actually means. It surely can’t be the point at which the number of shares goes negative…because a buy positively affects the number of shares
