Not seeing any way to create new file

I installed version 1.8.2 of the Apple Silicon in MacOS 15.5 (Sequoia). The getting started instructions say to click on the File menu and pick new, but the only option I see under the File menu is “open” which is grayed out.

The only options I have are Demo and opening an existing profile which I don’t have. What am I missing here?

That is the mobile app. It’s only for viewing.

I was using the MacOS app. Is that considered the mobile app? If so how do you create data on a Mac?

Let me guess, how about installing the right software from the website:

Despite the snarky answer, you did hit upon the problem. I did install the MacOS version on my Mac, but I also installed the iOS version on my iPhone. That unbeknownst to me caused Apple to also push the iOS version to my Mac.

I ended up running “Portfolio Performance” as I had the apps sorted by date and that was at the top and I assumed that was what I had just installed. The version I wanted to run was “PortfolioPerformance” (no space).
