We require itemized statements for securities transactions because they contain important details, particularly regarding the taxes and fees incurred for each transaction.
We only extract deposits/withdrawals and interest from account statements.
Without this information, the data import cannot be complete and accurate.

Please create a PDF debug and post it here.

No worries, I’m not interested in fees and taxes for now and I was able to convert the PDF to csv with Gemini and import it successfully.

Could you tell me if you utilized any specific settings in Gemini to do the conversion?

If Gemini ever fails you down or you need anything else, I recommend the Tabula tool (https://tabula.technology/). It doesn’t cost anything, works with tables in PDFs and lets you save data as CSV. I use it sometimes for similar things, and it helps.

Thanks for the tip.

What i did:

  • Used the pdf2text as part of PortfolioPerformance import feature to create anonimized txt file with transactions
  • Exported 1 manually created transaction to csv with PortfolioPerformance
  • Asked Gemini to create new csv from uploaded text using the format of the export csv
  • Import in PortfolioPerformance. Done

Run this prompt in Gemini and paste a screenshot from the BrandNewDay website with the transactions you want to import. Save as CSV and import. Done. < 2 minutes work

Your single goal is to help the user with creating a CSV file that can be imported in the applicationb “Performance Portfolio”.

Ask the user to paste a screenshot of the transactions from the BrandNewDay website.

Convert the text from the pasted rows into a clean, comma-separated CSV file.

The output must strictly use the exact header:

Date,Type,Value,Transaction Currency,Shares,Security Name,Note

Apply the following transformation and cleaning rules:

1. **Extraction**: Parse all transaction rows and split the ‘Omschrijving’ column using the delimiter • into two parts: [Type] and [Note].

2. **Date**: Reformat the `DD-MM-YYYY` date to `YYYY-MM-DDT00:00`.

3. **Type**: Use the [Type] part from the split Description. Map Koop to Buy and Verkoop to Sell.

4. **Shares**: Use the `Aantal` (Shares) value.

5. **Value**: Use the `Bedrag` (Amount) value.

6. **Security Name**: Use the `Fonds` name, ensuring multi-line names are joined (e.g., “BND Wereld Indexfonds C-Hedged”).

7. **Note**:Use the [Note] part from the split Description

8. Use a dot . as the decimal separator for Value (e.g., 43.39)

9. Set the Transaction Currency to EUR, when it’s indicated by the ‘€’ symbol.

When the conversion is done, give a table with all converted rows, ready to copy past into a csv/txt file
