I think that will conflict with the payment system via the play store for the paid contents of the app…
Yes, that’s right, but the basic functions would at least work that way
How would updates be pushed to the device?
Yes, automatic updates work and payment services don’t work. I have no idea how to fix this. But for such special cases it is probably one of the few options.
(An alternative I could think of is rooting and faking the location)
Is it possible to autosave binary files on desktop together with XML
In this case, updates would not be pushed to the device. (there is a way to do it, other apps like Signal do it but I’m not sure how complicated that is) It is up to the person installing the app to maintain it, either through going to the Github page whenever there is a new update and downloading it and installing it or through using an app like Obtainium to do this automatically. Another good place to put the app would be on fdroid, which is an appstore on android for open source apps
fdroid would be the best option (I dont know how hard it is ?)
in the meantime, would be really cool to have the apk uploaded somewhere (anywhere really), just for the users (like me) who have removed google (so also playstore) from their smartphone
and Chris gave a great summary !
I still would opt against that (but the app isn’t open source so @AndreasB opinion values the most). Reason:
Hello Andreas,
The PP-App is not available in the French iOS AppStore.
Is there any reasons, bypass possibility or plan to release it also for other countries ?
Hello,
Portfolio is a great application.
I’m living in France.
When I try to install the mobile application from playstore, I have an issue with the location.
“Not available in your country”
Regards,
Stéphane
Hi,
please find the reason here:
Hi Stéphane
you can download aurora store
from there, in the settings (‘spoofing’), switch to german
then you should be able to find portfolio performance listed
@AndreasB , any big change in the code or something ?
I’m using a ‘crypto phone’ (solana saga), it’s running version 14 android
Previous pf performance version are working fine, but with latest version, I get ‘app not installed as app isn’t comptabile with your phone.’
thanks & regards
The underlying frameworks (for example flutter, etc.) have been updated. But it should support Android 7 (API level 24+). I am not aware of any changes. Nothing intentional at least.
Does it say anything more? To give me something to work with/investigate?
can you tell me what’s the apk size for the latest version 1.3.0 ?
For some reasons, the ‘solution’ I’ve given for french users (to use aurora store), is no longer working for me, portfolio performance no longer appears in the results
So I’m not sure if the apk I’ve managed to extract somewhere is valid, or if it’s invalid, or if it is because of my uncommon phone !
It was mentioned a while ago, but if it’s feasible for you, having the apk files available to download somewhere would be great!
I’m also linking here the famous open source android store, F-Droid
and how to get an app uploaded overthere
(again, just in case it’s feasible / not too much work for you…)
cheers
I believe this is about this kind of authorization:
https://cyber.gouv.fr/faq-demande-dautorisation
https://cyber.gouv.fr/controle-reglementaire-sur-la-cryptographie-les-formulaires
Looks like a typical case of “Laissez-passer A38”…
thank you
thanks
actually I am able to download on one of my old “dummy phone” on which I am ok to use google play store
I’m trying to find a way to extract / send the apk from that phone to my main one, but no success so far
the ‘apk extractor’ apps I’m finding are not working properly
Any news for the French store? It’s been 7 months since the application was released and we still don’t have access to it
