Real Estate investment

Hello PP Forum,

I would like to add a real estate investment to my portfolio. I did a bit of research on past PP threads and almost concluded that the only option is to create a new security specific for that purpose/investment. Is this correct?

I am thinking creating separate Deposit and Securities accounts also to track that asset class separately.

Is this the standard approach used in this software?

Thank you again

There is no general way to go for. The best way forward is the way a long with your KPI‘s you are interested in.

From a performance perspective there is no difference.

Thank you. I was actually trying to understandif creating a new security is the only path forward.

New security is one way. Cash account and credit another.

As said, it’s a personal decision based on your existing KPI’s. Performance wise there is no difference.

A separate security account, or even cash account, can make your life easier regarding including and excluding real estate from the other investment.
