Realized Capital Gains doesn't match closed trades

I have closed out a long trade for 160 NFLX shares this month, and when I look at the “Realized Capital Gains” YTD in the Calculation widget under Performance, it shows a loss of DKK 10K:

I then look at my “Trades” to see that the actual realized result of that specific trade of 160 NFLX shares was a gain of DKK: 53K.

Can anyone explain how this is supposed to make sense?

Hello, there is at least two things :

1- In the Realized Capital Gains wigdet, the value is before taxes and fees. In the Trade view, the column “Profit/Loss” is after taxes and fees. You can add a Gross Profit/Loss column in Trades.

but it will not be sufficient in this case because of point 2 :

2 - In the Widget Performance Calculation, you have an initial value line, at 31 Dec 2025. In this initial value of your portfolio, the value of the Netflix shares are included (and so in this total initial value, is included the unrealized capital gains of your Netflix shares up until 31 Dec 2025). So the value -10k that you see is the change on the value of your netflix share since 31 Dec 2025. The new gain/loss compared to 31 Dec 2025. Before this sell, the -10K were in the Capital Gains row, as it was the YTD unrealized capital gains. It becomes realized with the sell.
To try to match, you have to make the widget start from 4 Aug 2021. But then I think you will also see the impact of the other trades in this period, (13 Jan 22-27 Mars 25) and maybe other.
On 31/12/25, if I take a Netflix price of 93,76 USD, an exchange rate USD/DKK 6,3579
the 160 shares were valued 160 * 93.76 * 6.3579 = DKK 95.3k. You had, compared to 31/12/25, a YTD unrealized gain of DKK 84.6k - 95.3k = DKK -10.7k, more or less your -10.5k, which has become realized with the sell.

Let’s say both data serves different purpose. One is for the performance between two dates, the other gives trades level details.

Thank you for a very detailed and clear explanation. It makes perfect sense now. By changing the reporting period of the widget, I can see that the value of the specific Netflix trade also changes.
