I bought a share in 2015 and sold it at a profit in 2024. When I enter this today, I get a negative figure, likely because the amount is being calculated based on today’s selling price. I suspect the date isn’t being taken into account in the calculation.
Which reporting period is selected? The reporting period must start before the buy in 2015 and should not end before the sale.
Or you view it in “Trades view”, this view is without a specific reporting period.
If it`s not because of the wrong time period, please share screenshots of the buy and sell transaction.
I bought 50 shares of Jinkosolar on December 8, 2015, for €1,130. I sold the shares on February 23, 2024, for €1,201.
I entered this data manually yesterday and checked it several times.
I should have a profit, yet “Portfolio Performance” calculates a figure of -€1,722 under Reports > Calculation > Realized Price Gains.
I don’t understand this.
The view “Securities” is time-bound - the entry value and the exit value are tied to the start and end of the selected period (upper right corner). Therefore, if you bought something in 2015, but view only the last year, then the profit/loss is calculated for that year.
The same is true of the “Calculation”. The numbers add up (starting value in that period) plus (gains) minus (cost) equals (end value). But it is a period -based view
