Short positions in Portfolio Performance

Hello. I find that PP is an amazing tool.
I have just a problem regarding the short positions.
I understand that the tool doesn’t manage yet the short positions.
Will the short positions be managed in a near future?
Is there a work around to manage the short positions waiting a new update that would take them into account?
Best regards.

The same in the options trading (when you are selling options, not buying). Unfortunately PP becomes usless…

still not possible to make short trades in PP ??

Not really, no.

Perhaps it would be possible to add negative quantities as a workaround?

For example: I shorted against stock A at $5 with $500, so I put -100 A at $5
That way, if it goes down to, say, $4, the result calculation will be -1004 - -1005 = -400 + 500 = 100, a profit.
If it went up, the result would be a loss.

The only drawback I see is for the representation of it in a chart, maybe the program can check if it is a positive number, and if not, already label it as a short position.

No, that is not the only concern. Since years the developers asking about the impact to the overall calculations like performance, TTWROR and further. Allowing negative quantities is one side of the medal, the other side round how reliable are the calculations and what is expected by the users …

Fair enough. I only started using it this week, and I haven’t really used all the features. But I think it is a really important feature to support short positions.

Would you be able to tell me what needs to be done in my part to allow support for it? I am invested in making my part to make this work.
