Suggestions for improving PP

Based on my experience with PP (and my mistakes), I would like to suggest two practical improvements to PP.

  1. The ability to lock widgets created in dashboards: I regularly move widgets around in my dashboards, which often results in a situation where I have trouble finding my way around.
  2. The creation of a button to go back or forward through the displays you have just created: With so many menus and sub-menus, it is often difficult to remember where we were in order to go back. A small button would, in my opinion, do the trick.

no interest ?

PP is very cool, but the impression I get of the dev/devs (based on some of the design choices and other things) is that they aren’t really interested in community feedback of that sort. There are some really essential features that exist in other apps that don’t exist in PP. The good news is that it is open source, so if you want to clone the repo and add features yourself, you probably can.

@r3cursor … Thank you for your kind comment. I cannot say whether my suggestions will interest the developers or not, but the fact is that they have not prompted any response…

As for open source, I unfortunately have no expertise in this area and would therefore be unable to produce these new features. What a shame ! :slightly_smiling_face:

On the other side, one could say users are more claiming than being willing to support and develop.

Kind of an unfair comparison, since other apps are commercialized, even when they do have a free plan.

Indeed, and since people are doing this in their barely free time, for NO money,
Perhaps we should be grateful rather than complaining that they don’t listen to users.

I apologize if my remarks came off as disrespectful. I was only trying to answer OP’s question (since no one else did), without getting too in-depth. And was trying to share my personal impressions, even if they might be wrong, so that someone like you might have the opportunity to correct them with additional knowledge sharing.

I am a developer myself. From that lens, I am always thinking about what could be improved.

I am sheer awe of the achievement Portfolio Performance is. But I think it was designed with specific purposes in mind. I live in the US, where use-cases exist that may differ with other countries.
