You can also use the “time machine” function in the Statement of Assets (calendar at top right), which will show you the assets as they were on a given date.

maybe I do not fully get your question. In /Reports/Statement of Assets/Chart you get a visual manifestation of the values of your assets as well as portfolios over time (be aware of the preriod you set for reporting). What to show and compare can be controlled by categories as SgtWinter pointd out.
