I am facing an issue with Portfolio Performance regarding the value of my USD holdings, specifically how the tool is calculating the value in BRL. The problem is that the value being shown (R$ 17,875.96) doesn’t match the expected amount based on either the current exchange rate or the average purchase price I used when acquiring the dollars.
Here’s the situation:
- Purchase History: I bought 3,126.15 USD at an average rate of R$ 5.78 per USD. According to this, the expected value in BRL should be R$ 18,069.14 (3,126.15 * 5.78).
- Current Exchange Rate: If Portfolio Performance were using the current exchange rate, which is around R$ 5.73 per USD, the value should be R$ 17,926.65 (3,126.15 * 5.73).
- The Discrepancy: The tool is showing a value of R$ 17,875.96, but this doesn’t match the expected values based on either the average purchase rate (R$ 5.78) or the current exchange rate (R$ 5.73).
What am I missing?
