Wrong average cost?

hi all!
italian user here, sorry in advance for my bad english, i’m trying to improve it

basically, i have notice tonight a problem with the average cost basis of two etfs in my portfolio.

let’s check for example this etf, US10 (Us treasury medium duration)

i bought 15 shares in 3 different times:
15 x 94,60 €
15 x 92,01 €
15 x 90,40 €

so i assume that the average price has to be (94,60 + 92,01 + 90,40) / 3 = 92,34

instead of 92,xx pp give me a 99,12€

it’s seems strange also simply looking at the chart:

i can’t figure it out, it doesn’t seems a problem of fifo or something…
anyone has an idea?

thanks

Hey fonta91,

It may be that the reporting period you chose (top right corner in the /Report/Performance/Titoli view) does not include all your purchases. It looks like your reporting period starts with 2024 (the price on the chart at the start of 2024 is around 99,xx EUR, same as in your second picture)

yeah, that’s the issue!
if i select 2 years, the average cost basis is right…
but it’s normal? i mean, why the average cost has to change if i change the period?

The reporting period is a very important feature in PP.

Yes it is normal. PP actually does not recalculate the cost average in your case. For all shares purchased before the reporting period PP pretends that they were purchased at the beginning of the period (1st of January in your case).

So be careful to always look at the reporting period. BTW you can create your own individual reporting periods

In the Statement of Asset, you can add it too, and there it is not dependent on the reporting period (not defined for Statement of Asset).

By the way, you can also plot it in the graph of your first message.
